Black Dog Wear designs and manufactures the Official Collar for the Australian, Tasmanian and New Zealand Greyhound Adoption Programs and we've used this experience to produce our Sighthound Collar (for Greyhounds, Afghans, Saluki, Borzoi, etc)
Because the head size of most of these breeds is smaller than their neck, keeping a collar securely fitted can pose problems, this design will tighten if a dog tries to slip its collar, while the extra thick webbing and tapered throat pad ensures that your dog's neck and soft hair are protected and supported.
This Martingale correction loop is measured the same as a Training Collar below:
While this collar is designed specifically for Sighthounds, it may also be used on many soft haired breeds such as Vizslas, GSP's, or Dobermanns, as long as the collar is large enough to be fitted over the dog's head. An alternative for these dogs would be our Comfy Turtle Neck or Tuffy Collars - wide neck pad, but clips on to fit around the neck on dogs with a larger head.

This is due to our commitments to the Greyhound Adoption Programs around Australia which use Apple Green as their official colour collar. GAP collars are only awarded to dogs who have successfully completed GAP retraining programs for retired racing greyhounds and are used by rangers to quickly identify these retrained greyhounds.
Black Dog Wear has undertaken not to produce Apple Green Sighthound and Whippet Collars to help maintain the integrity of these retraining and adoption programs.
Orange colour in solid is also dedicated to the Brightside Farm Sanctuary& Tasmanian Greyhound Rescue Programs.

Amazing product
By: Barb on 21 September 2025Great collar. Really well made with quality materials. I use this for both my purebred Husky and my Husky x Malamute and it is amazing. The collar holds firm and the martingale loops slide well with no friction or resistance. The mechanics haven't failed us and we are over 2 years in with our Husky male. Love this product so much I would definitely recommend it. Working great with our Husky x Malamute girl too.

Sparky had her collar for 10 years!
By: Liz on 25 November 2021I bought two Black Dog sight hound collars years ago one for my whippet and one for my greyhound. They are excellent and never seem to wear out. My gorgeous old greyhound, Sparky, died this year at the age of 14. She had her collar for 10 years.
